I started my yoga journey decades ago in Minneapolis. Like many of you, I needed a way to reduce the stress I was feeling from work and thought yoga would be a way to relax. I remember my first yoga practice vividly. I moved my body in ways it had never moved before and felt emotions that came up for me I didn’t know I was carrying. In one practice, I knew I would come back to the mat as a place to release the day-to-day pressures and simply be present to breath, move and reconnect to my inner guide.
I come back to the mat as often as possible for different reasons now but the benefits are always the same — a reconnection of mind, body and spirit. It’s a place of peace I wouldn’t otherwise have.
DHY is a place I go to regularly after work to connect socially with my fellow practitioners and yogis. The studio has just seen an amazingly positive transition with John and Tracey’s leadership. I appreciate so much the love and energy that Jess and the yogis bring to that space. The light in me honors the light in each and everyone of you at DHY. I’ll see you in class!
Namaste.
